Timothy S. Sullivan is an instructor in the Department of Economic and Finance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He received his PH.D. in Economics at the University of Maryland. His primary research interests are local economic development and statistical methods. He has performed economic impact analysis for a variety of entities, including universities, transportation infrastructure, government projects, sport facilities, and several large businesses. He has coauthored numerous journals articles, book chapters, and report on economic impact analysis, local economic development and financing, the economics of sport, and the role of Internet in the economy.

Hoyleton Youth and Family Services was established in 1895 to care for orphaned children of a cholera epidemic. It has grown to be a community provider of emotional and mental health services for every stage of child and family development throughout southern Illinois.
Hoyleton Youth and Family Services has continually expanded its commitment to all people, young and old alike, who are in need. Today, Hoyleton enriches the lives of over 1,500 people annually through our broad spectrum of residential and community-based services. These include therapeutic residential treatment and foster care, transitional and independent living programs, crisis care, Puentes de Esperanza and special education programs.
Craig received his BS degree from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in Mass communications.

Mary Ross On February 8, 2016, Mary Ross joined the Community Development team as a Planner I-Transitional Housing Team Member. In her position, Ross focuses on community out-reach, homelessness prevention and transitional housing support. One of Ross’s largest project was coordinating the Madison County Poverty Summit, “Combating Poverty: educating the Community”. The Poverty Summit was a data-driven discussion on homelessness problems and potential solutions. Community Development enlisted the assistance of the SIUE Institute for Urban Research to collect and analyze local data which guided the subject matter for discussion. The intended out- comes from the event included increased collaboration between the participants, broader understanding of the barriers faced by low income families and greater public awareness of the issues surrounding poverty. The audience for the event was comprised of local not-for-profits, governments, business owners, faith-based groups, law enforcement, and educators.Ross joined the Edwardsville Township team in 2014 as the MPA intern before graduating from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications and a Master’s degree in Public Administration & Policy Analysis. A native of Belize, Central America, and Ross lived in Chicago until she moved to Edwardsville to attend SIUE. She attended Roosevelt High School in Chicago, IL.

Dr. Lakesha Butler |
Dr. Lakesha Butler is a clinical associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Dr. Butler received her doctorate of pharmacy from Mercer University in Atlanta, Ga. She also completed a post-graduate pharmacy residency specializing in primary care at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist and certified CPR instructor. Dr. Butler practices as a clinical pharmacist providing medication management and diabetes education to uninsured patients in St. Charles, Mo., at the Volunteers in Medicine Clinic.
Dr. Butler is an advocate for increasing cultural competency among health care professionals, decreasing health disparities among minorities and underserved patients, improving health literacy and incorporating innovative, active learning strategies in the classroom.
Dr. Butler’s scholarly interest include development of cultural competency within healthcare, health disparities among minority and underserved populations, health literacy and incorporation of innovative, active learning strategies in the classroom.

Haley Thompson
The Southwestern Illinois College Foundation has named Haley Thompson of Trenton as its new executive director.
Thompson will oversee a staff with responsibilities for scholarships and fundraising events. The Foundation currently administers more than 250 scholarships – supported by individuals, organizations and businesses – which help students pay for their college education.
She brings to the post nine years of higher education development experience. Before joining SWIC, Thompson served as the assistant director of annual giving at McKendree University. Prior to that, she was the director of development and alumni relations at Western Oklahoma State College. She served as director of international programs and development, as well as community liaison of international programs, at Saint Martin’s University in Washington before relocating to Oklahoma.
Thompson earned a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Bentley University and a master’s degree in international relations from the University of Oklahoma.
She is a member of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education – District V and Associated Colleges of Illinois.
The Southwestern Illinois College Foundation exists to maintain and enhance the quality of life by developing friends and funds for support of the educational, cultural and service goals of Southwestern Illinois College. The Foundation promotes these activities by securing gifts for educational and cultural activities that are not part of the normal college operational budget.

Kim Zakrzewski is a 2011 graduate of Blackburn College, she has worked several positions in senior care from Dishwasher to Events Coordination, Fundraising & Marketing. As Marketing Director for the Cambridge House of Maryville, she will explain the benefits and services of the Illinois Supportive Living Program. Her presentation will also include information on fall prevention as well as communications strategies used by the Cambridge House.
Cambridge House of Maryville is your affordable assisted living community located east of Anderson Hospital, on Hwy. 162, between I-55/I-70 and Hwy. 159 in Maryville, Illinois.
This facility is one of three Cambridge House communities located in the St. Louis Metro East area. In addition to Maryville, Cambridge House affordable assisted lifestyle communities are located in O’Fallon, Illinois and Swansea, Illinois.
All three Cambridge House communities are fully certified to operate through the Illinois Supportive Living program and are managed by Gardant Management Solutions, the largest provider of assisted living in Illinois.
Cambridge House provides a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home, especially for those who cannot afford private pay assisted living.

Paul Shetley |
Paul Shetley is the Director of the Environmental Resources Training Center, School of Engineering at SIUE. Paul has over 21 years of practical and management experience in water quality and environmental science. This includes performing groundwater and surface water quality investigations, wetlands determinations, and environmental impact analysis throughout the nation for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Energy, Departments of Transportation and at many industrial facilities. His administrative experience includes project and site manager of environmental investigation, and six years as the manager of a water distribution system in Southwestern Illinois.
