About Us
Chartered in November, 1991, with 29 members, The Goshen Rotary Club was created to be of service to the Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, & Maryville communities locally and globally to Rotary International.
Unlike many Rotary clubs that have existed for generations, the youthful profile of its now 45+ members adds a level of enthusiasm and spirit to its many service and social activities. As Goshen Rotarians, members build goodwill and peace, provide humanitarian service and encourage high ethical standards while enjoying each other’s company.
While many Goshen Rotary projects occur independently, the men and women of the club come together for meetings every Wednesday at 12:00 noon in the Leclaire Room at the Lewis and Clark Community College’s N.O. Nelson Campus in Edwardsville, IL.
The Club is non-political, non-religious and welcomes members of all cultures, races and creeds.
Operating through various committees, Goshen Rotary members plan and carry out service projects that address critical community and international issues. However, not all volunteering is targeted at helping those in need.
Emphasizing youth and rewarding tomorrow’s leaders in our local high schools also has a high priority for the club. The club’s activities are funded through various fundraising activities including an all new Music Trivia night coming in the fall and an annual golf tournament in the spring as well as other activities and efforts involving the members of the club and their businesses.
The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self“, a standard that our club tries to model through our service projects.
